HTC at MWC 2014 to bring smartwatch

Plans for HTC to bring their new smartwatch to the Mobile World Congress 2014 looks set to be confined to carriers according to reports. This would have been the ideal opportunity to unveil their new prototype based on Qualcomm Inc. (QCOM)’s Toq device, but it seems this will not be previewed or showcased to the public just yet.
HTC at MWC 2014 to bring smartwatch
The Taiwanese smartphone maker is facing problems when it comes to sliding sales and we were expecting the first of three wearable devices to be shown off at the MWC 2014 next week in Barcelona. In an article onBloomberg they highlight plans for this sneak preview for carriers and the source behind this information has not been identified because full details of this have not been released.
We also understand that HTC is developing a watch using Google Inc. (GOOG)’s Now service, along with news of an electronic bracelet that plays music, but we are unsure whether this will be showcased at the upcoming event.
In other relative news, back in October we discussed the functional HTC smartwatch with no gimmicks questioned, and asked our readers what it will take for them to discard their current timepiece in favour of a smartwatch.
Do you think the kind of features available on smartphones will be enough to warrant getting a new smartwatch? Maybe the idea of a camera on your wristwatch could be the kind of feature that could sway you.
