Google will be sticking with LG as its manufacturing partner in case of its smartwatch, new leak claims.
According to details provided by prolific leaker @evleaks, Google smartwatch may already be on the production line and will feature 1.65-inch IPS LCD display with 280 x 280 pixel resolution, 512MB RAM, 4GB internal storage, while the processor is yet to be disclosed.Google smartwatch to be manufactured by LG and other specification leak
The leak doesn’t bring with an image as we are used to in case of almost @evleaks tweets, and this leaves us speculating about the design and looks of the wearable. However, one thing is clear that the smartwatch will have a square display considering its 280 x 280 resolution.
Google has already revealed its plans of releasing a special software development kit (SDK) before the end of the month for wearable devices including fitness bands, smartwartches and headsets; however, Mountain View was tightlipped when it came to developing these devices in-house.
In late 2013, there were several rumours about a possible Google smartwatch ‘Gem’ being slated for release alongside Android 4.4 KitKat, but that didn’t happen.
One report in October 2013 from The Wall Street Journal claimed that Google will release its smartwatch in 2014 as the device was in the last stages of development and was to enter production line soon.
