LG announces new G pad 7,G Pad 8 and G Pad

10.1 Tablets

LG has strengthened its G Pad series with three new tablets namely, G Pad 7.0, G Pad 8.0 and G Pad 10.1. The devices will be given a full unveiling at MedPI 2014, the IT-Tech trade show in Europe to be held from May 13 to 16.

The new G Pad tablets come with proprietary UX features like QPair 2.0 and Knock Code. LG is also offering an updated version of QPair that allows users to connect to their Android-powered smartphones via Bluetooth to receive notifications of calls and messages. Users will now be able to respond directly from the G Pad. The Knock Code will let users power on and unlock their LG smartphones by simply entering a personalized ‘knock’ pattern on the smartphone’s display.

The G Pad 7.0 has supposedly been designed to be held in one hand while the mid-sized G Pad 8.0 is crafted to offer smooth multi-tasking, according to LG. The G Pad 10.1 gets the largest display as well as battery, among the trio of tablets announced. In terms of specs, not much is known yet. LG will fill in details like specs, availability and pricing in the weeks ahead.

“Customers tell us that they want a wider range of devices that offer sizable screens without compromising portability,” Jong-seok Park, president and CEO of LG, said in a press statement. “Unlike smartphones, tablets are not one size fits all. So we designed the G Pad Series for a diverse target audience, some who prioritize portability while others want the best multimedia experience possible. G Pad delivers on all counts.”
